Sébastien Marquet’s impressive background includes 30 years of vintages from across the world, and studies in oenology and viticulture in his native Burgundy. He earned his BS degree at the Lycée Viti-Oenologie de Beaune and a CFPPA business certificate in wine sales from the Lycée Viti-oenologie Macon Davaye.
A long career as a winemaker in various wine regions worldwide has given Marquet the opportunity to produce award-winning wines from each of these localities. In addition, through this extensive experience, Marquet has developed the skills required to produce quality wines in distinct climates and terroir. Marquet has produced wine in Burgundy, Languedoc-Roussillon, Martinique, Sonoma, Napa Valley, and Virginia. Marquet’s background has refined his approach to wine quality and consistency vintage after vintage.
Marquet conducts and coordinates every aspect of the winemaking process, managing vineyards, and working with other growers through the vinification, blending and quality control. Marquet has demonstrated his ability to deliver through an extensive list of awards and accolades received for his wines.
Marquet’s record shows effective marketing strategies resulting in elevated sales, successful product branding, and consistently producing award-winning wines for his clients.
Isabelle Truchon established Burgundy Style Consulting with husband, Sebastien Marquet, in 2011. The company has expanded since then to include two additional employees, Vitilis Oenology Lab Services, Vineyard Properties by SMIT, and additional clients yearly.
Isabelle’s force is her attention to detail, her creative eye, and awesome client service skills. Isabelle loves to explore the wine regions of the world, and is constantly scouting for cutting edge ways of marketing, and elevating one’s brand. Combining their talents, along with those of their associates, Sebastien and Isabelle provide the wine industry with a “vine to glass” service that is sans pareil.
After beginning his wine industry career in the Lake Erie wine region, James realized his passion for winemaking and moved to the Finger Lakes, where he would obtain greater experience and knowledge. James pursued his education at Finger Lakes Community College in Viticulture and Wine Technology, and was quickly promoted to Assistant Winemaker at Montezuma Winery. His experience working in wineries of various sizes in different capacities, was a perfect bridge to Burgundy Style Consulting. James has been with BSC since 2014, and continues to be a great asset to the company. His friendly, and professional demeanor, speaks volumes with our clients. He brings a fresh approach to winemaking, always trying to improve quality, and raising the standard in all aspects.
Felipe Reyes has been in the Vineyard industry for over 15 years. His love of the vine, and land extends itself to his incredible attention to detail in the vineyards. Rain or shine, Felipe leads vineyard crews to fulfill all necessary duties and tasks to obtain the best quality grapes, and wine.
James Lovasz has been in the Virginia wine industry going on 4 years. His various roles included Tasting Room manager, and Cellar Assistant. His love of winemaking and grape-growing developed during this time, and his eagerness to dive into the production, and viticultural side of the business led him to Burgundy Style in May 2017. He is a natural fit for our team, as he exudes passion for the vines, and a clear understanding of the viticultural practices of this unique region. We look forward to a long relationship with James as he grows with the vines he tends for BSC clients.
Sketch is a spunky Rat Terrier who is always eager to please in the vineyards. He enjoys the sun, so heat is never a problem for this little fellow. Running along the vineyard rows, he feels right at home. He loves to chase away critters, and play with butterflies!
Ilus is a 2 year old Pudlepointer, with an uncanny way to romp along the vineyards sporting a smile. He is obedient, eager to please, and quite the loving companion. His favorite pastime is to swim in ponds, chase geese, and enjoy an occasional glass of wine.
